This promotional booklet had a black gutter throughout, which became a starting point for painting over the text to make a book of trees. This was the cover.

The spring binding of this old calendar was incorporated into each of these spreads. This is the front & back covers.

This datebook's info ran up the center of each page. At the end of the year I painted out the dates and my notes, then found images in the painted shapes - which you can still see, running up the middle of each page.

I had this sketchbook with me while rafting through the Grand Canyon. It got a little wet and creased, but the folds provided the shape of a roof for this sketch.
